What Lens Material is Right for You?
Our optical shop carries a variety of lens materials for prescription glasses. Our staff will take the time to get to know your eye care needs and create the best lenses for you.
Plastic and Polycarbonate Lenses
Plastic and polycarbonate lenses are durable, lightweight, and more impact-resistant than traditional glass lenses. These lenses are excellent options for prescription safety or sports eyewear.
High Index
This ultrathin lightweight lens provides the most benefit for moderate to high prescriptions.
Trivex
Provides light weight lens material, superior eye protection and sharper vision.
Glass Lenses
Glass lenses are known for providing the best possible vision enhancement and clarity. While glass lenses aren’t as lightweight as plastic, they offer excellent scratch protection.
Lens Designs to Enhance Your Vision
Single Vision
This lens design can enhance your vision for either near or far, depending on your specific needs.
Bifocals and Trifocals
This lens corrects both far and near vision needs. A visible line divides the lens segments.
Progressive
This lens corrects both distance and near vision needs, but unlike bifocals or trifocals, these lenses do not have the visible line that divides the segments.
Upgrade Your Glasses With Lens Enhancements
Anti-Reflective Coatings
Enhances the appearance and reduces reflection on lenses. Maximizes night vision and reduces eye strain.
Polarized
Eliminates reflective glare from sun, water, snow, and other surfaces. Superior to ordinary sunglasses.
Tint
Protects light sensitive eyes. Tints are available in many colors and shades.
Transitions / Photochromic
Also called “light adaptive lenses,” this special lens transitions to various shades depending on exposure to specific light intensity. These variable tinted lenses are available in plastic or glass.
UV Coating
Blocks up to 100% of potentially harmful ultraviolet light without changing the lens’ appearance.
Scratch Resistant Coating
Increases durability and resistance to scratches when applied to plastic and polycarbonate lenses.
Blue Light Filtering Lenses
Helps when using digital devices.
Mirror Coating
These lenses help to reduce glare and reflect the harmful sun rays.
